Rock in Rio 2026 ended last Sunday (13) in an edition marked by intense rain that dominated practically the entire festival program. This year's edition became known for opening the event to a new musical genre: K-pop, which was present for the first time in the event's history.
Korean fans had the opportunity to watch K-pop acts at the festival, with emphasis on the group Stray Kids, who was the headliner of one of the days. Among the big names at this year's Rock in Rio, there were also Elton John, Calvin Harris as the first DJ headliner in the event's history, Maroon 5, Demi Lovato, in addition to two consecutive days dedicated to rock.
In an interview with CBN, Roberta Medina, vice president of Rock World, the company that manages the festival, highlighted the unprecedented presence of K-pop, which attracted teenagers and children in large numbers for the first time. She stated that the organization is "watching what the public wants" regarding possible new musical genres, some of which were requested by the public itself.
