The 78th Emmy Awards edition took place this Monday (14), in Los Angeles, promising a tight race between the most acclaimed series of recent years. Among the highlights were the medical series 'The Pitt', leader in nominations, and 'Hacks', which arrived at its fifth and final season making history by becoming the most nominated comedy series in a single edition of the main North American television awards.
In the best drama series category, as expected, 'The Pitt' appeared as the main favorite. The HBO Max production received 25 nominations and attempted to repeat last year's feat, when it took home the main award in the category. The series was also the favorite in other important categories, including best actor and best director, both competed for by Noah Wyle.
The main threat to 'The Pitt's' favoritism was 'Pluribus', from Apple TV+. Rhea Seehorn, lead actress of the series, was pointed out as one of the favorites for the best performance in a drama series award.
