The Chapel of Our Lady of the Incarnation, in Buarcos, was yesterday afternoon the epicenter of these ancient festivities that combine religious traditions and popular festivities in the municipality of Figueira da Foz. The Eucharist took place in the grounds in front of the Chapel, as has been customary in recent years, a ceremony presided over by Father Carlos Noronha that marked the beginning of the most significant programming in tribute to the patron saint.
During the homily, the priest left a thanksgiving to the Virgin and remembered the difficult times being experienced today, saying that "it is a darkness that surrounds the world" and that this leads people to have more faith in better times. Father Carlos Noronha also thanked Our Lady of the Incarnation during the Solemn Procession.
The procession, which included the Philharmonics of Lares and Alhadas, descended to the seaside to greet and bless the community. Hundreds of people waited to see the image of Our Lady of the Incarnation pass by, including local officials and other entities.
