The 11th edition of the Algarve Music Series runs between September 27 and December 6, with an itinerant programme that passes through Loulé, Faro, Tavira and Lagos. Under the theme "crossroads," the festival combines classical music, contemporary creation and different musical traditions in historic and cultural spaces of the region, such as churches, theatres and other heritage spaces. The opening is scheduled for World Tourism Day, September 27, with a conference-concert at the Casa da Cultura de Loulé, with free entry.
Faro assumes one of the main axes of the programme. On October 1, Teatro das Figuras hosts Avi Avital, Vasco Dantas and the Algarve Orchestra for the concert "Around the Sun," integrated into the celebrations of World Music Day. Faro also receives the Forte Trio from Kazakhstan, mezzo-soprano Magdalena Kulig, the Elogio Trio, and Miguel Simões, totalling five concerts that include educational activities in the city's basic schools.
