A new attack attributed to the Iberian wolf is believed to have caused the death of four sheep and four lambs, this Saturday, September 12, in the area of Cerdeirinhas, in the municipality of Vieira do Minho. The attack resulted in the death of eight animals in total.
The occurrence was reported by UPGALL – Union of Livestock Producers Damaged by Wolves, which reported this as another case among the attacks recorded in the region.
This incident is part of a pattern of recurring attacks that have affected livestock producers in the area, especially in the Minho region, where the coexistence between livestock farming and the presence of the Iberian wolf has been problematic.
UPGALL has been alerting to the damages caused to local producers due to wolf attacks, advocating for livestock protection measures and adequate compensation for affected breeders.
