Portuguese cyclist Afonso Eulálio, who rides for the Bahrain-Victorius team, finished ninth in Sunday's Grand Prix de Montréal, one of the elite events on the WorldTour circuit.
The race victory was claimed by Mexican Isaac del Toro, rider of the UAE Emirates team, who achieved a standout result in this Canadian competition.
This was the first time Afonso Eulálio finished in the top ten of a WorldTour event, which represents an important milestone in the young Portuguese cyclist's career.
The Grand Prix de Montréal is one of the most prestigious one-day races on the global cycling calendar, attracting some of the world's best specialists in this discipline.
