The trio of composers Ian Ruas, Caio Miranda and José Carlos won on the same night the samba-enredo contests for Salgueiro and Unidos da Tijuca for Carnival 2027. The result was announced in the early hours of this Sunday, around 5 a.m.
At Salgueiro, Ruas leads the partnership that also includes David Carvalho, Luiz Fernando, Luana Rosa, Fabiano Mattos and Carlão, in addition to Miranda and Carlos. The school brought to the Avenue the samba-enredo "Laroyê Xica da Silva: the history behind the history", developed by carnival designers Jorge Silveira and Leonardo Antan based on the book of the same name.
The theme of the samba-enredo revisits the trajectory of Xica da Silva, a character who had previously been brought to the Avenue by the school on previous occasions. Salgueiro will be the third school to parade on Carnival Monday.
With this double win, the same trio of composers will be responsible for energizing two schools at Sapucaí during Carnival 2027.
