Rock World confirmed this Sunday the holding of the next edition of Rock in Rio during a press conference at the City of Rock. In 2027, the festival travels to São Paulo, and in 2028, it returns to Rio de Janeiro. This Sunday marks the last day of the current edition, which received, over seven days, more than 700 thousand people, including technical crews.
The major announcement was Rock in Run, a race aimed at festival attendees. The route has yet to be defined, but the race will start at sunset, outside the City of Rock. At the finish line, already inside the festival grounds, participants will receive a medal with the Rock in Rio brand emblem.
During the assessment of the 2026 edition, businesswoman Roberta Medina listed some milestones of the festival. One of them was the rain, which persisted for at least four days throughout the program. According to her, the rain was treated as one of the "artists" of the event, which gave no respite to organizers and attendees.
Despite the challenges caused by bad weather, Roberta Medina stated that the team managed to keep the party running normally, highlighting three months of work in setting up the event. The festival ended its 2026 edition this Sunday, consolidating itself as one of the largest entertainment events in Brazil.
