Jorge Fonseca lost the final in the -100 kg category at the Grand Slam in Budapest, Hungary. The Portuguese judoka was defeated by Italian Gennaro Pirelli.
The decision of the bout was determined by the penalty system characteristic of judo. Fonseca ended up receiving the third penalty, the so-called third shido, which resulted in his defeat.
With this result, the Portuguese athlete failed to achieve the title at the competition held in the Hungarian capital. The Grand Slam in Budapest is one of the most important events in the international judo circuit.
