The Vila Flor Municipal Pavilion is undergoing an intervention to improve user comfort conditions and reduce the building's energy consumption, with an investment of approximately 75 thousand euros.
The project includes the installation of 34 photovoltaic panels on the pavilion roof for renewable energy production, as well as three new high-efficiency heat pumps and a thermal tank. These facilities will enable better temperature control throughout the year and reduce thermal discomfort.
According to the Municipality, the intervention should allow for a reduction of more than 30% in the sports facility's energy consumption, with a direct impact on operating costs and resource use.
The renovation also aims to reduce emissions associated with the pavilion's operation and its carbon footprint, forming part of a broader strategy to modernise municipal infrastructure that seeks to combine better conditions for sports practice with environmentally sustainable solutions.
