The leader of PS/Açores, Francisco César, announced that the party will propose measures to support displaced students. The announcement was made in the city of Horta, on the island of Faial, at the closing of the party's XVII regional congress.
Among the proposals presented is the creation of a Regional Student Housing Supplement, aimed at financially supporting students who need to rent housing outside their home islands.
PS/Açores also proposes that expenses for air travel of displaced students may be deducted in their income tax, thus guaranteeing tax benefits for these young people.
The measures aim to mitigate the financial difficulties faced by Azorean students who attend educational institutions outside their resident islands.
