Additionally, PS/Açores will propose that expenses related to air travel for displaced students can be deducted from income tax. This tax benefit proposal aims to reduce the increased costs that students face when attending educational institutions outside their islands.
These proposals arise in the context of the difficulties that Azorean students face in accessing higher education, given the region's geographical isolation and the need for many young people to travel to other islands or to the mainland to study.
