Benfica were defeated 37-33 at home against Porto, in a match from the third round of the national handball championship. The encounter took place this Saturday at Pavilion No.2 of the Estádio da Luz.
Coach Anders Hallberg deeply lamented the way the team started the match. According to the red and white coach, the team conceded nine goals without scoring any at the beginning of the game, which he considered to have a big impact on the final result.
The coach explained that after six or seven minutes of the first half, the team managed to react and play well. Hallberg stated that he had good feelings when the team reached halftime, although that effort was not enough to guarantee a different outcome on the scoreboard.
The coach emphasized that they cannot start the game, nor the second half, in that way against a team like Porto. The statements were made to the microphones of BTV, the Club's official channel.
