A man was arrested by the Military Police this Saturday (12) after attempting to flee from officers and crashing a motorcycle on Padre Telêmaco Street, in Cascadura, in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The suspect is identified by the police as the perpetrator of robberies in the Cascadura area and was located during an operation to combat robberies in Quintino.
According to the 9th BPM (Rocha Miranda), the police officers were on patrol when they received information that criminals were committing robberies in the area. During the search, the suspect was found on the street and, upon noticing the officers' approach, tried to flee, but ended up crashing the motorcycle he was riding.
With the man, the police seized a .38 caliber revolver and ammunition. A cell phone that, according to the police, belonged to one of the robbery victims was also recovered. The motorcycle used by the suspect in the incident was seized.
The occurrence was referred to the local police station. According to the Military Police, the case is still ongoing and more details may be disclosed in the future.
