Refood, a food recovery organization, has recorded an increase in the number of requests for help since 2024 through August of this year. This growth was observed across the various nuclei spread throughout the country, reflecting the difficulties faced by Portuguese families.
Viseu was one of the nuclei where requests for help increased significantly. The city hosted this weekend the 10th national meeting of Refood, bringing together the various nuclei of the organization.
The increase in requests for help is linked to the rising cost of living in Portugal. This situation has led more and more families to seek Refood's support to meet their basic food needs.
