The first 400m hurdles final of the Ultimate Budapest, the new World Athletics championship, brings together this Sunday the three best athletes in the history of the event. Alison dos Santos (EC Pinheiros-SP), Karsten Warholm and Rai Benjamin also lead the 2026 World Ranking.
The event features Alison dos Santos, world champion, Olympic medalist and world record holder with the time of 45.80. Norwegian Karsten Warholm is a three-time world champion, former world record holder and Olympic gold medalist at Tokyo 2021, with 45.94. American Rai Benjamin is an Olympic and world champion.
The final will be contested at 1:36 PM (Brasilia time) on the track at the Gyula Zsivotzky National Athletics Center, in Budapest, Hungary, with broadcast on SporTV and XSports TV. The event is the first edition of the Ultimate, a hybrid format of championship and gala event that brings together the elite of athletics competing for significant prize money.
In the semifinal on Saturday, Alison dos Santos ran at a comfortable pace and always ahead in lane 6 of heat 1, yet still achieved the best time of the qualifying stage.
