Setúbal inaugurated a naval workshop dedicated to the recovery of wooden boats, giving new life to a nautical tradition on the banks of the Sado river. The initiative aims to preserve the historical and cultural heritage associated with the construction and repair of traditional vessels.
The workshop features the participation of master craftsmen and students, creating a space for knowledge transmission between generations. This proximity between experienced professionals and new apprentices allows traditional woodworking techniques to be kept alive.
The project emerges as a response to the need to conserve a nautical heritage that has deep roots in the Setúbal region, attracting both local specialists and visitors interested in the valorization of these century-old traditions.
