A flight was diverted, preventing the Auxiliary Bishop of Caracas from celebrating mass at Funchal Cathedral, in Madeira. The information was reported by the Diocese of Funchal.

The prelate was unable to arrive on the island of Madeira in time to fulfill the religious commitment at the Funchal cathedral.

D. José Dionísio Gouveia will, however, be present this afternoon in Ribeira Seca, his family's hometown. Ribeira Seca is a parish in the municipality of Santana, on the north coast of Madeira.
