The Tiago Cabaço Winery, located in Estremoz, was crowned winner in the 21st Century category of the Novas 7 Maravilhas de Portugal. The decision was made last Saturday, the 12th, during the grand final of the contest held at the Palace of Sintra. Among the various heritage sites and finalist spaces from across the country, it was the Estremoz winery that achieved first place in this category dedicated to 21st century heritage.
The distinction represents an important recognition of Alentejo's wine heritage and reinforces Estremoz's role as a reference territory in the production and promotion of national wine. The award constitutes a recognition of the identity and dynamism of a territory deeply connected to viticulture, an activity that assumes increasing economic, cultural, and touristic importance.
The Tiago Cabaço Winery victory highlights the region's capacity to transform its winemaking tradition into a modern and differentiated experience. The Sé of Lisbon triumphed in the Religion category, the Markets of Olhão won in the 20th Century, and the Garden of the Episcopal Palace in Castelo Branco won in the Tourism category.
