Manuel is an independent worker from Palma de Mallorca, in Spain, who started about ten years ago washing cars in his home garage, serving friends and acquaintances. With the growth of the clientele, the business evolved from conventional washes to detailing services, with greater attention to the different areas of the vehicle. The entrepreneur declared a monthly billing between 10,000 and 15,000 euros, with daily revenues usually between 300 and 500 euros.
The journey was marked by bureaucratic difficulties. Manuel received a notification for an urban planning infraction related to signage on the facade and an intermediate floor in the warehouse, existing since 1991, which led the police to seal the establishment and forced the suspension of activity for about a month. The entrepreneur stated that he managed to obtain documentation proving the antiquity of the structure.
The establishment serves between three and five cars per day, with a detailed cleaning taking about one and a half to two hours with two people, while the quick modality takes approximately 15 minutes. To build customer loyalty, Manuel created a monthly subscription system of 15.99 euros for quick washes and 45.90 euros for complete cleaning, which would cost 80 euros outside this modality.
Regarding the necessary investment, Manuel estimates that a manual car wash can start with five thousand to ten thousand euros, while an automatic installation would require at least 200,000 euros. The entrepreneur pointed to a profitability between 70% and 75%, although the article does not present detailed accounts that allow confirming this percentage or determining his net income after deducting expenses for salaries, contributions, materials and suppliers.
