Meat is going to get more expensive in Portugal, according to a warning issued by the Portuguese Association of Meat Industries (APIC). The organization indicates that the increase in meat and derivative prices is "inevitable," warning that companies in the sector are already seeing their costs increase significantly.
APIC states it is "extremely concerned" about the situation, highlighting that all products sold by meat industries necessarily face increased costs. The association also recalls the issue of fuel prices as a factor contributing to this cost escalation in the sector.
The organization also criticizes the GNR (National Republican Guard) in the context of this issue. This warning comes in a week when another alert had already been issued about rising prices in shopping in Portugal, precisely due to high fuel prices.
