Persistent rain caused a total closure of the lanes on Marginal Tietê, São Paulo's busiest avenue, on Saturday morning. According to information from the Traffic Engineering Company (CET) to G1, the closure occurs in the direction of Rodovia Castello Branco, at the height of the Bandeiras, Casa Verde, and Freguesia do Ó bridges. On Ponte Atílio Fontana, flooding affects both the central lanes and the express lanes.
In the direction of Ayrton Senna, Marginal Tietê has the local lane blocked at the height of Ponte Tatuapé. Marginal Pinheiros also has problems: in the direction of Castello Branco, the local lane is blocked occupying two lanes near Rua Flórida. In the direction of Interlagos, the local lane is completely blocked near Rua Andries Both, at the end of Cebolão.
CET advises drivers to avoid the affected area. According to the Center for Climate Emergency Management (CGE), the city of São Paulo registers 16 flooding points on Saturday morning, of which 10 are impassable.
