Singer and accordion player Mestrinho revealed he will pay tribute to Rita Lee at his Rock in Rio show, which takes place this Saturday (12) on the Global Village Stage. In a video posted on Instagram, the Sergipe artist previewed some details of the performance and said he prepared a special "little block" dedicated to the "queen of rock and roll."
Mestrinho highlighted Rita Lee's importance to the country, stating that she did a lot not only with her songs but also with her fight. The accordion player added that Rita Lee is one of the greatest singers Brazil has ever had.
The artist from Sergipe is the first accordion player to perform a full show at Rock in Rio. Throughout his career, Mestrinho has accumulated several awards, including two Latin Grammys in the category of best roots album in Portuguese. He said he was emotional about the opportunity to participate in the event.
