Marítimo's coach, Mitchell van der Gaag, today expressed his expectations for his team's trip to Moreirense's ground, in a match for the sixth round of the Portuguese I Liga football championship, which takes place on Monday. The Dutch coach acknowledged that he expects difficulties in this match.
Van der Gaag explained that Moreirense is a team with experience in the I Liga and that they play on a field that is historically difficult for visiting teams. He also noted that the Moreira de Cónegos club has a good squad and is led by a competent coach.
Marítimo's coach also revealed a personal connection with the opponent, stating that he knows Moreirense's coach, Vasco Botelho da Costa, well. This familiarity is due to the fact that Vasco Botelho da Costa coached Mitchell van der Gaag's son, Jordan van der Gaag, when he played for União de Leiria.
