Former state deputy Thiego Raimundo de Oliveira Santos, known as TH Joias, is the target of an indictment by the Federal Public Ministry (MPF) that accuses him of direct participation in the narcotics trade, not just of maintaining relationships with members of Comando Vermelho, as he was already under investigation for previously. The accusation maintains that he brokered drug deals, controlled payments, and kept substances in storage.
Among the evidence gathered by the MPF are a billing spreadsheet called "Pó amigo TH," images of a room full of drug bags, and a message sent with the photos containing only the phrase "there are 200kg." Investigators point out that the volume of 200 kilos of drugs was stored in a depot under the control of the former deputy.
The indictment attributes to TH Joias three drug trafficking episodes, in the modalities of sale, storage, and offering of narcotics. The document is part of the criminal action resulting from Operation Zargun, which is a follow-up to a previous investigation into the former deputy's criminal activities.
Federal justice has already determined that TH Joias be held in a federal prison. He stands trial for ties to Comando Vermelho, but the new indictment expands the scope of accusations, imputing to him active participation in drug trafficking operations.
