Forensic authorities from the Mexican state of Chihuahua authorized the burial of 117 unidentified bodies. The burial was carried out in the city of Ciudad Juárez, one of the areas most affected by violence linked to drug trafficking in Mexico.
Each grave is carefully recorded by the competent authorities. The implemented system allows the graves to be reopened if information arrives that allows the identification of the bodies at a later date.
This measure comes in the context of a severe crisis of disappearances and violence in Mexico, particularly in the state of Chihuahua, which has been the scene of conflicts between organized criminal groups over the past years.
