The Feiras Novas of Ponte de Lima commemorate this year their 200th anniversary, reaching today, Saturday, the peak of the celebrations with the first Fair. The festival started on Wednesday and ran until Friday, animated by concertinas, the Iberian Bagpipe Festival and fado and university music group sessions that filled the nights.
Today's day started to the sound of the Zés Pereiras, Gaiteiros, Gigantones and Cabeçudos, traditional characters who were present in the streets of Ponte de Lima to celebrate this special date.
The event continues throughout the day with diverse activities, maintaining the tradition that characterizes this historic fair from Portuguese Minho.
