Cardadores are organizing the First National Traditional Masks Meeting, an event that promises to mark a historic milestone for local and national tradition. The meeting, called Ronco, takes place on the first weekend of October.
The event will be held in Vale de Ílhavo, a village included in the Route of Villages of Portugal, belonging to the municipality of Ílhavo. This locality is known for its strong connection to carnival mask traditions.
The meeting aims to bring together artisans and creators of traditional masks from across the country, promoting the exchange of knowledge and the appreciation of this popular art. The event is expected to contribute to the preservation and dissemination of traditional Portuguese masks.
