The Discalced Carmelites are holding on Saturday, September 12, the IV meeting «Carmo Jovem +», at the Church of Mount Carmel in Aveiro. The event is described as a moment of «encounter, sharing and prayer» intended for the young people who gave rise to the «Carmo Jovem» movement and for all those who wish to join this community.
The initiative aims to strengthen the bonds among young people linked to Carmelite spirituality and welcome them on a path of friendship and faith. The meeting promises to be a day of «joy, friendship, celebration», with moments of encounter with God inspired by the charism of Saint Teresa of Jesus and Saint John of the Cross.
The theme of the IV meeting is a quote from Saint John of the Cross: «At the end, what remains is the love you have lived». The Order of Discalced Carmelites in Portugal also announced the calendar for its vocational meetings for young people, called «Rumos», which began on the first weekend of September, at Domus Carmeli, in Fatima.
