The communities of Lagoa, Parchal and Mexilhoeira da Carregação, in the Diocese of Algarve, hold on September 12, 2026, the third edition of the 'Interparish Open Day', an event that runs between 4pm and midnight near the matrix church of Lagoa, with a program that includes music, culture, entertainment and celebration of faith.
The headliner of this edition is singer and songwriter Héber Marques, member of the band HMB, who establishes a connection between music, youth and the experience of encounter lived by the Portuguese Church in recent years. Héber Marques performed at World Youth Day Lisbon 2023, singing the theme 'Um Dia de Sol' at the Flag Ceremony at Eduardo VII Park.
The program also includes a talk show hosted by influencer Andreia de Sousa Viegas at 5pm, the opening Eucharist of Pastoral Year 2026/2027 at 7pm, performances by Carla Fragata & Friends at 8pm and by DJ Tiago at 9pm and 11pm, as well as street entertainment by Percutunes throughout the event.
Solidarity is a central dimension of the Open Day, with the Parochial Cáritas of Nossa Senhora da Luz running the bar whose proceeds go to social action and support for accompanied families. The organization also appeals to participants to bring non-perishable products for subsequent distribution to families supported by Cáritas.
