Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Supreme Federal Court, accused the rapporteur of the Banco Master case, André Mendonça, of promoting selective release of classified documents to favor and protect a specific political group. The accusation was made in response to Mendonça, who had stated that all documents in the case had already had their classification lifted and are fully available to the ministers' offices.
Moraes challenged Mendonça's statement and pointed out that there was a "selective and targeted" lifting of the classification, with favoritism toward certain political authorities. The minister also renewed his demand for the availability of material seized from banker Daniel Vorcaro's phone, which was previously under the custody of Mendonça's office and is currently with the Federal Police.
The minister argued that it is not for the rapporteur to decide which documents should be accessible to the other members of the panel for the trial of the case. Given this, he requested the intervention of the president of the Supreme Court, Edson Fachin, to resolve the issue regarding access to the documents.
