Datafolha: Lula has 39% in the 1st round, and Bolsonaro, 35%

The new Datafolha poll, released on Friday, reveals a technical tie between President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and Senator Bolsonaro (PL) in the race for the Presidency of the Republic, with 39% and 35% of voting intentions, respectively. The margin of error for the survey is two percentage points. Writer Augusto Cury appears in third place with 6% of voting intentions, followed by former Governor of Goiás Ronaldo Caiado (PSD) with 4%.

Among the other candidates, Renan Santos (Missão) has 3%, Romeu Zema (Novo) appears with 2%, and Rui Costa Pimenta (PCO), Edmilson Costa (PCB), Clariana Brandão (DC) and Samara (UP) each have 1% of voting intentions. Blank or null votes reach 6%, while 4% of those interviewed declared themselves undecided.

The survey was commissioned by "Folha de S. Paulo" and TV Globo. A total of 2,002 people were surveyed between Tuesday and Thursday, in 125 Brazilian municipalities. The poll is registered with the Superior Electoral Court.
