U.S. President Donald Trump rejected a request from Saudi Arabia to attack Houthi rebels in Yemen. The information was reported by the Axios portal, citing sources close to the matter.

Faced with advances by Houthi rebels in western Yemen, the Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, reportedly asked the United States for military assistance to halt the rebel offensive.

Trump refused to order airstrikes against the Houthis, opting instead to focus American military efforts on the war against Iran, according to sources cited by Axios.
