STF Justice Flávio Dino determined on Friday that the Federal Police open an investigation into the contract between the Instituto Conhecer Brasil and the São Paulo City Hall regarding the provision of wi-fi in the city's outskirts. The Institute is an NGO owned by Karina Ferreira da Gama, producer of the film "Dark Horse," about former President Jair Bolsonaro. The businesswoman was targeted by a PF operation this week investigating embezzlement and money laundering for the film's production.
In his determination, Dino also ordered the São Paulo Civil Police to transfer to the STF the investigation proceeding at the state level regarding the NGO, and suspended all types of public contract payments to the Instituto Conhecer Brasil.
Earlier, before the determination, the mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes, stated that he would approach the Supreme Court to verify whether there is a need for the City Hall to terminate the contract with the NGO.
