Daniel Vorcaro's defense asked Justice André Mendonça of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) to filter the documents from Operation Compliance Zero before making them public. The lawyers request that personal messages, images of family members, including children, and conversations protected by attorney-client privilege between Vorcaro and his counsel be preserved.
The defense's response was made in response to a request by STF President Edson Fachin to give publicity to the investigations. According to the petition, the defense does not question the reasons that led Fachin to order the lifting of the seal, but argues that disclosure must be preceded by filtering to prevent the exposure of content unrelated to the investigation.
The lawyers cite previous episodes from Operation Compliance Zero itself and state that messages of an extremely intimate nature exchanged between Vorcaro and his then-girlfriend were allegedly improperly exposed, reinforcing the need for protection of sensitive data.
