Chega will advance with bills for the reduction of VAT on fuels and the implementation of zero VAT on the basket of essential foods. These are the main measures the party will bring to parliament.
The proposals will be discussed on September 24, the date set for the debate on these legislative initiatives.
André Ventura, leader of Chega, launched a challenge to José Luís Carneiro, leader of PS, demanding that the Socialist Party deputies vote in favor of these measures.
The challenge arises in the context of a political dispute between the two parties, with Chega pressuring PS to support tax reduction measures on fuels and essential foods.
