The Datafolha survey released this Friday places Marília Campos (PT) in the numerical lead of the race for one of the two Senate seats for Minas Gerais, with 12% of voting intentions. The former mayor of Contagem is closely followed by Aécio Neves (PSDB) and Carlos Viana (PSD), who is seeking re-election, both with 10% of intentions.

Domingos Sávio (PL) appears next with 8%, while Marcelo Aro has 6%. Datafolha considers these five candidates to be in a technical five-way tie, within the margin of error of three percentage points plus or minus.

The other candidates have lower percentages: Áurea Carolina (PSOL) has 3%, while Ana Luiza (MLB), Marco Antônio Superman (Novo) and Victória Mello Vic (PSTU) score 2%. Arcanjo Pimenta (MDB), Manoel Carvalho (MDB), Judge Ramon Moreira (DC), Carlin Moura (Avante), Fidélis Alcântara (UP) and Tião Pessoa (PCO) each have 1%. Jordano Metalúrgico (PSTU) did not score.

The survey shows that 20% of voters are undecided, while the survey also records voting intentions for null votes, blank votes, or for none of the candidates.

Mendonça defends maintaining the removal of Federal Police director-general Andrei Rodrigues

Minister André Mendonça, of the Supreme Federal Court, defended maintaining the removal of the Federal Police director-general, Andrei Rodrigues, and the Police Intelligence director, Leandro Almada. The statement was filed after Rodrigues presented clarifications to the STF regarding the accusations of investigating authorities, defending the legality of his actions. Mendonça stated that the measure does not encroach on the president's competence to appoint and dismiss members of the PF leadership, highlighting that the Supreme Court has jurisprudence that allows the precautionary removal of public servants. The minister rejected the argument that the departure of the two directors would cause disorganization in the institution, arguing that other delegates have the technical capacity to assume the positions.
