The Datafolha poll released this Friday places former mayor Eduardo Paes (PSD) in the lead of the race for governor of Rio de Janeiro, with 43% of voting intentions in the first round. In the previous poll, on August 22, Paes appeared with 41%.
Douglas Ruas (PL), an ally of Flavío Bolsonaro and president of the Rio de Janeiro State Legislative Assembly (Alerj), appears in second place with 25%, having risen from 19% in the previous poll. Former governor Anthony Garotinho (Republicanos) registers 10%, with a slight increase from the previous 9%.
On this same Friday, the Rio de Janeiro State Electoral Court (TRE-RJ) blocked, unanimously, the candidacy registration of Garotinho, which may impact his position in upcoming polls.
The other candidates present the following percentages: Colonel Busnello (Missão), William Siri (PSOL) and André Marinho (Novo) appear with 2% each, while Cyro Garcia (PSTU) and Juliete (UP) have 1% each.
