TVI Notícias11 September 2026 at 21:25

The Portuguese Government expressed interest in acquiring a 20% stake in REN (Redes Energéticas Nacionais). The executive intends to increase its position in the national energy sector company.

If this intention is realized, the State would have to invest an additional 147 million euros to reach the 20% stake. This value represents the additional cost needed to achieve this share in the company.

In total, the potential cost to the State in this operation could reach 538 million euros. This value encompasses the total investment required for the acquisition of the desired percentage in REN.
