CGTP (Confédération Générale des Travailleurs Portugais) demanded a national minimum wage of €1100 for next year. This demand is part of its main claims for Portuguese workers.
After a month of mobilization and holding assemblies with workers across the country, CGTP decided to organize a major national demonstration. This protest action is scheduled for October 17th.
The demonstrations will take place simultaneously in three cities: Lisbon, Porto, and Coimbra. The choice of these cities aims to ensure strong participation from workers in different regions of the country.
CGTP justifies this mobilization as a response to workers' needs and the claims that have been discussed in the various assemblies held during the month prior to the demonstration.
