Project trains workers directly on construction sites

oglobo11 September 2026 at 19:16

The expansion of the construction industry has generated a significant professional training challenge in Brazil. The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) points to annual economic activity of R$ 4.9 billion in Alagoas alone, showing the sector's magnitude. Business owners in the field point to the difficulty in finding qualified workers as the main factor limiting business expansion, according to the Construction Survey by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV IBRE).

The advance of automation intensifies this pressure on the sector. The equipment used in construction has become much more sophisticated, ranging from electronic management tools to automated equipment. Brazilian companies already use three-dimensional BIM (Building Information Modeling) models and even drones for inspecting construction sites.

The FGV survey indicates that companies are taking measures to mitigate the problem of skilled labor shortage. The main strategy adopted has been carrying out training, that is, the direct qualification of people to work on construction sites.
