Lamego hosts the Pastoral of Cultural Heritage Days dedicated to evangelization

The 2026 Pastoral of Church Cultural Heritage Days will take place on October 16 in Lamego, at Casa da Obra Kolping. The event is promoted by the National Secretariat for Cultural Heritage in co-organization with the Commission for Cultural Heritage and Social Communications of the Diocese of Lamego, with the central theme "Giving Light to the Word: the importance of the Church's Cultural Heritage in the action of evangelizing and announcing."

The program includes interventions by Barbara Aniello, from the Pontifical Gregorian University, on iconographic programs in evangelization, and by Father João Norton, sj, from Brotéria, on the relationship between cultural heritage, liturgy, and evangelization. Fernando Moita and António Cordeiro, from the National Secretariat for Christian Education, will present a paper on identifying Christian art through the pedagogical pathways of the Catholic Moral and Religious Education discipline.

During the afternoon, Father Pablo Delclaux de Muller, national director of Heritage at the Spanish Episcopal Conference, will speak about tourist visits as an opportunity to communicate God, while Marco Daniel Duarte, director of the Museum of the Sanctuary of Fatima, will address the role of museology in the Church's evangelizing action.

The symposium concludes with a round table on new artistic proposals for evangelizing today, bringing together sculptor Paulo Neves,
