Reconstruction cost exceeding 4.7 billion dollars

Açoriano Oriental11 September 2026 at 17:41

Nepal will need at least 4.78 billion dollars, equivalent to 4.12 billion euros at the current exchange rate, to rebuild the areas affected by the August flooding. The announcement was made by Nepalese diplomacy.

The reconstruction cost is thus higher than 4.7 billion dollars, a value that reflects the magnitude of the damage caused by the natural catastrophe that hit the country in the month of August.

The Nepalese government will have to mobilize significant resources to cover the reconstruction needs, in an amount that exceeds the estimated 4.78 billion dollars by Nepalese authorities.

This amount destined for reconstruction comes after the devastation caused by the August flooding, which severely affected several regions of Nepal.
