After four hours of negotiations, the Union of Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Technicians and the president of INEM reached a written and signed agreement to cancel the strikes scheduled for September 14 and 28. The negotiation was mediated by the Minister of Health.
As a result of the agreement, INEM conceded and committed to maintaining the network of 56 ambulances, in addition to reinforcing human resources. Fifty more vacancies were opened in regional competitions to train new emergency medical technicians.
In exchange, the technicians accepted patient transfers and agreed to the implementation of a pilot project, conditions that were at the center of the labor conflict that led to the scheduling of the strikes.
The agreement made it possible to avoid the planned strike days this month, ensuring the continuity of pre-hospital emergency service throughout the country.
