The Polícia Judiciária arrested two men, aged 37 and 44, suspected of involvement in the death of a 41-year-old man and the stabbing of another, aged 51, on Thursday, in Olhão, in the district of Faro. The crimes are believed to have occurred following a dispute related to drug use and trafficking.
The victims were found inside a residence and barbarously attacked with a knife and an iron bar. One of the victims died at the scene and the other was taken to the hospital in Faro, where he remains hospitalized. One of the arrested has a criminal record for drug trafficking-related crimes.
The rapid clarification of the crimes was due to the action of the PSP, which, alerted to a disturbance, proceeded to activate emergency services and preserve the scene. The two suspects were arrested on Thursday and are strongly suspected of committing a completed homicide and an attempted homicide.
The arrested will be brought before the judicial authority for first judicial interrogation and application of coercive measures. The investigation, overseen by the DIAP of Olhão, continues to clarify the circumstances of the crimes and determine the possible responsibility of other individuals.
