Filipino authorities recover 30 more bodies from burning ship

Filipino rescue teams recovered today 30 more bodies from the ship that caught fire on Wednesday night near Coron island. The Filipino Coast Guard announced that this new toll brings the number of dead to 35.

The fire broke out during Wednesday night, when the ship was near Coron island, one of the most well-known areas of the Philippine archipelago. Rescue operations are still underway to try to locate more survivors or victims.

The authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of the fire nor the total number of passengers and crew on board the ship at the time of the accident. The Coast Guard is coordinating the rescue operations in the area of the disaster.

Coron is an island located in the province of Palawan, in the western Philippines, and is a popular tourist destination for both domestic and international travelers. The accident occurred on one of the country's busiest maritime routes.
