An enormous American flag was raised at dawn at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. to mark the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks. The dawn ceremony marked the beginning of the commemorative celebrations of this historic date.
The event served to pay tribute to the victims of the attacks that killed thousands of people in the United States. The flag was raised at the U.S. Department of Defense building, one of the targets of the attacks 25 years ago.
This ceremony is part of the official commemorations of the quarter century after the terrorist attacks that shook the United States. The Pentagon, which suffered one of the attacks that day, was chosen as the location for the dawn flag raising.
