An autistic child became trapped in a lake in Saint Paul, in the US state of Minnesota, this Monday. The child left home without the family noticing, becoming distressed in the water.
Police were alerted to the situation and headed to the location. A police drone arrived at the lake two minutes before the officers on the ground.
Through the drone, authorities were able to identify the exact location of the child and assess their condition before intervening directly.
The child was ultimately safely removed from the water, thanks to the aerial surveillance technology used by the police.
