Gave ChatGPT $100 to create a business. In a few days it was worth "25 thousand"... then everything disappeared

SAPO Notícias11 September 2026 at 16:00

An experiment conducted with ChatGPT consisted of giving $100 to the artificial intelligence to create a business from scratch. GPT-4 was tasked with making all the decisions on how to invest the money and develop the business project.

The artificial intelligence decided that the best way to multiply the capital would be to create a website dedicated to sustainable products. The site would be monetized through affiliate marketing and advertising, common strategies in online e-commerce.

According to the account, in a few days the business reached an estimated value of $25,000, a significant appreciation of the initial investment of just $100.

However, despite the initial success, everything eventually disappeared, raising questions about the sustainability and real viability of businesses created entirely by artificial intelligence without continuous human supervision.

Milestone: OpenAI's AI resolves the Millennium Problem of the Navier-Stokes equations, not without some controversy

OpenAI announced it had found a formal solution to one of the Millennium Problems — the existence and regularity of the Navier-Stokes equations — using a massive infrastructure with 10,000 autonomous artificial intelligence agents, coordinated for approximately 88 consecutive hours and exchanging millions of messages, at an estimated cost of millions of dollars. However, the scientific community expressed doubts and controversy, questioning whether the solution meets the rigorous scientific requirements necessary or whether it is a premature initiative that still lacks independent validation.
