The initiative brought socializing to the public space next to Mercearia Confiança de Troino, in Setúbal, with a gastronomic experience accompanied by live music. The last session featured singer Joana Lança, who entertained at Largo da Fonte Nova.
At the table, proposals inspired by regional gastronomy and products were served, including cuttlefish salad, sardine with white bean purée, mackerel with chickpeas and citrus vinaigrette, octopus à moda da mercearia, gizzards, pica-pau à maneira antiga, roasted vegetables, and roasted Azeitão cheese. The offering also included a selection of cheeses, cured meats, ham, jams, honey and dried fruits, as well as traditional desserts like rice pudding, chocolate mousse and custard.
The sixth edition of Tardes à Merceeiro took on special significance this year by integrating the centenary celebrations of Mercearia Confiança de Troino, founded in 1926 and linked for a century to the commercial and social memory of that historic area of Setúbal.
Promoted by the Setúbal Municipal Council, the initiative seeks to enhance regional gastronomy and preserve the memory and identity of a historic establishment. The session on the 10th closed the 2026 edition of Tardes à Merceeiro.
